Totally frustrating and disappointing

I've been out looking for a new home. A new build. What's out there is disappointing and its frustrating to see what the designers and builders call livable. I'm going to head out again tomorrow for the Sunday open houses. The house inspector was here on Friday as well as the people that want to buy the house. The inspector left a radon dectector and the house has been closed up so it can get a reading. I've started packing and throwing things out again. I've also been knitting on the Trekking XXL sock for my son. I'm about at the arch. I have to guess his foot size but I have "The Joy of Knitting Companion" that gives approximate lengths for feet in it. I'm going to end this tonight with a picture of my son who someday will be wearing a nice warm pair of handknit Trekking XXL socks.

House hunting and traveling kids

Today is July 4th. A really beautiful day for being outdoors and I'm sitting here getting my blog up to date. I spent a couple of hours yesterday with the realtor looking at homes. Some were way too close to the highway and are now excluded. Others were poorly designed in lovely neighborhoods. I'm going to head out in a bit to look at a couple of other areas the realtor suggested. I heard from my daughter and she's on her way home. Sounds like the visit to California was a good one. On the knitting front I did RE-frog the Trekking XXL socks I'm making for my son and started doing the Basic Formula for Men socks using the magic loop method. So far I like it. I'm starting the heel now. I also started reading A Passage to India as part of the Knit the Classics KAL. My project is going to be a prayer shawl... that I crochet. I'm using stash yarn in a berry color. I like that in the Knit the Classics group they accept any fiberart project be it knitting, crochet, sewing, tatting...etc. I end this today with a pic of my daughter, the bridesmaid, in her college roommate's wedding. They had a riot and that wedding went on for days!!!!!

Houston we have a contract

Today around 3pm I signed papers to sell my house. Hopefully the sale will go through. My only issue is I don't have a clue where I'll go. I'd like a place with a fenced in backyard so that the dogs can run and have fun. Maybe a little space for a garden would be nice too. Here's a picture of someone that will really enjoy some wide open spaces.

Do we have a deal?

My house has been on the market for a long time... approximately 9 months. Yesterday an offer came in. I spent last night mulling over their offer and weighing my options. I am very lucky and have had good advice from my realtor and my sister, also a realtor. I'm waiting to hear back on the lastest counter offer. I have a feeling we will reach an agreement at some point. I believe the new family will fit in well with the neighborhood since they plan on sending their kids to the parochial school system. I'm attempting to upload a pic of the house but its not working... I'll keep trying. On the knitting front I did frog the Trekking XXL socks and started over. I'm doing a K2P2 ribbing and have found a diagonal stitch pattern to follow. When I get further along I put up a picture.

Isn't he cute???

Here's a picture of our little LOVEBUG, my grandson, dressed in one of his #9 Kasey Kahne Nascar onesies. He's 4 months of fun bundled up in a cute little package. He'll be visiting for the weekend. Its always fun to see how he's grown and what new things he's doing. I bought him a little toy car with a puppy in it that makes "vroom vroom" noises... scared him. Soooooooo the toy is put away. That's my niece holding him in the background. She likes to be known as "LB." Last night I frogged the socks I was making for my son and started them over in another pattern. I don't think I like this pattern much either. I'm seeing a visit to the frog pond again.

How does one start?

I decided to begin blogging after reading and enjoying other's blogs on the web. Most of the blogs I read are related to Knitting, Crochet, Nascar and Dogs. I have 3 adult kids and one grandson, 2 Cockapoos and a Bulldog. I'm usually working on some "yarn" project.... actually more than one most of the time. I have socks that I'm making up as I go and a Branching Out scarf on the needles presently. I'll post pictures of them as soon as they're finished. My interest in Nascar began in 2005 after my daughter met Kasey Kahne when he came to town for the Auto show. I've changed the type to red because Kasey drives the #9 Evernham UAW Dodge and his car is mostly red. This season has been fun to watch him have such a successful season. The entire family is rooting for him to be the next Nextel Cup Champion. I've had dogs all my life as well as a few assorted cats, parakeets, cockatiel and gerbil. Presently I have 2 small five pound Cockapoos and a fifty-five pound Bulldog. He's sweet although he had a terrible morning with a bad upset stomach. There's nothing like waking up to a puking Bulldog....ick. I hope with time I get more adept at blogging. Right now I'm going to go learn how to post pictures!!!!!
